I woke up this morning at 4:45 for no reason. I was kind of thirsty so I got a drink and went to the bathroom, but then when I got back to bed I couldn't fall asleep. So, I laid in my bed until 5:30 and then decided to go to adoration, which they have every morning at that time. I had never been up at 5:30 so I've never made it before. It was very cool. All the lights were off in St. Gregory Chapel. The Blessed Sacrament was exposed on the altar in a tiny monstrance (a stand that holds the host, fyi) surrounded by a few candles.
The point of this whole story is this: being very tired and grumpy, but in the presence of God helped me realize something. God does not need us at our best to praise Him. He loves us all the time no matter how stupid we are acting and we should love Him in the same way - whether it's 5:30 am or in the middle of the day. I'm sure Jesus wasn't in the greatest mood many times during His life, particularly in His Passion, but He gave everything He had for us. Shouldn't we do the same?
