I'm guessing ...

... that not a lot of people would like mewithoutYou.

Instrumentally, their music is kind of complex and even a little relaxing. It's not too hard.
However, pretty much all of the lead singer's vocals are a kind of shouting and screaming. It's very modern and very "punk" if you define punk as "doesn't seem to care that it doesn't sound normal."

I, as you may have guessed or read before, like mewithoutYou quite a bit. I think they're original and despite the lack of actual singing in many of their songs, I find their music extremely entertaining. I like it for the same reason that I like a lot of hardcore music, it's unpretentious. I could probably be the lead singer of this band ... it doesn't sound too difficult but the guy that actually does it has such emotion. Their newest CD, Catch for Us the Foxes, is sad in a positive sense. It's all about God but it's about God in their lives. I love the lyrics and can identify with a lot of them.

Basically the point I'm trying to make is that music doesn't need to be complex or brilliant to be good.
It's all about the emotion put into a song. Now I'm not saying that knowing how to play an instrument isn't necessary, but that it is ok for a drummer not to be John Bonham and for a guitar player to be Jimmy Page (oh yes, they are good).

God gave us all different kinds of abilities. Some people are virtuosos and can play ten minute long solos and still be entertaining. Other people are just born good at screaming.

Sometimes a ten minute solo is good. Other times all you need are three chords played real fast.
