I was just talking on the phone to a friend in Ohio and some strange things happened. For no apparent reason, we kept getting crossed over into other peoples' conversations. We would be talking, then all of a sudden a random person would say, "Hello?". We were both on cell phones.
It happened like twenty times and a few of the times I would end up on some girl's cell phone voicemail. The weirdest part was that my friend and I could both hear the other people and they could hear us, but I couldn't hear my friend. One time some girls suddenlly appeared, and as I was listening to some seriously hardcore screamy music, I turned that up and put the phone up to the speaker. When I picked the phone back up, my friend was back.
Then I called my mom on our home phone and the same thing happened to her. Weird.
Does anybody know what's going on?

Nope, although the same thing happens when I use our portable phone in my room. Something about that particular room in our house hones in on random radiowaves, and other conversations fade in and out of mine, and sometimes I can hear the radio, too.
Slightly disturbing, but also sort of mysterious and fun. Could make a great premise for a movie someday...
The same thing sometimes happen to walkie talkies... I was walking on the other Sycamore street and I heard this weird conversation that sounded like it was taking place between two four year-olds...

Ha! It's funny that you mention a movie though, because that's the first thing that popped into my mind.
I also heard what sounded like a little kid saying, "hello?". It was creepy ... just like that little girl in Hide and Seek ...
