... that I am as excited for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe as I was for the Lord of the Rings movies once I got into them.
The story is fantastic because the books are incredible. You should read them before you see this movie in December. That's an order! They read very easily (compared to LOTR) but are just as good.
From the preview (scroll down), it looks pretty sweet.
Response to anonymous: "Just as good" as in having an engrossing story, awesome characters, and some high-quality morals. Though the stories may be more like fairy tales, they show a world just as deep and well developed as Tolkien's Middle Earth.

Hmm, "just as good" in what sense?
I have always carried with me the memory of reading "The Last Battle", because of the beautiful, beautiful imagery of its last chapter. The phrase "further up and further in" brings it to mind. I tore through the entire chronicles, fascinated, and now I too am excited about their upcoming release. A lovely memory.
That is one of the best lines in the whole series.
Hi, thanks for indicating where you thought it was an excellent series. I thought that would help generate more interest in Lewis' work by some of your bloggers.
I've only read one of the books, and I remember being impressed by its moral appeal.
II do think Tolkien constructed a world of certainly more detail and perhaps more depth; see for example his characters' poetry or his discussions on languages. But presumably both works achieve their objectives equally well.
(And since I'm neither a Tolkien nor Lewis scholar, I'l be silent now :) )
