Today ...

... I created a fake Beatles album (after I wrote my Spirituality paper, of course). What does that mean? Well, I took some tracks from the bootleg CD my uncle gave me, the first Anthology CD, and a version of "Let It Be" that I think is not the normal one. Then I put them together in an order I liked so it was like The Beatles made a new album. Lame? Maybe ... but I enjoy listening to it. Here's the track listing if you want to try something similiar:

1. Lady Madonna (rehearsal) Intro - It's Paul playing the organ and talking to John (I think). There's some singing, but it mainly sets the mood.

2. Free As A Bird - The "new" song on The Beatles Anthology - Part 1. John recorded part of it before he died and the other guys made it a whole song. Not bad.

3. Back in the USSR (acoustic) - very laid back and cool.

4. I'm Looking Through You - I've never heard this on anything but I like it a lot.

5. Imagine - Yes, it's a "John song" but I think it fits and it could have been a Beatles song. It just sounds like it.

6. Dear Prudence (acoustic)

7. Hey Jude (rehearsal) - My favorite part is when Paul tells the other guys to sing the "Na na na" part because they just stopped.

8. I Need You (?) - Off of the Anthology. It has "late-Beatles" feel.

9. Michelle (just guitar)

10. Revolution (acoustic) - This has some awesome vocal parts.

11. Let It Be (with a different guitar solo than I've heard)

Great blog, however it is a tad discouraging to see a future priest being such a fan of John Lennon the downright antithesis of everything somone like B-XVI stands for!

I didn't say I was a fan of what John Lennon stood for. He was a great musician and songrwriter. I make no judgement on his soul, but say that even music from people like him can be truly beautiful and give glory to God.
Thanks for reading!
