A reader writes concerning Media Blindness to the Annual Prolife March on Washington
If you want the media there, don't ask the media to show up. Ask the president to show up. In person. Not by phone from West Virginia, Camp David, the West Wing, Rangoon, etc. Live on the platform. Walking at the front of the parade. The newsies would notice that. He's right of course. And the President will not show up. Why? Because he's a member of the Stupid Party and the Stupid Party doesn't really care about human life. They've always kept prolifers at arms length and exploited them and they always will. Not caring and exploiting those who do is a lesser sin than the fanatical devotion to the sacrament of abortion that characterizes the Evil Party. But that's not really much help, is it? At best, such polticos are a useful shield against zealots who want to impose the abortion regime with even more draconian zeal on those who oppose it in conscience. But that's about it. They don't really care. They are uncomfortable standing next to those who do.
It's always bothered me that there are a few congresspeople at the pre-March rally, but the crowd is so big and spread out that you can only hear some random talking followed by random applause. It just doesn't have much power. The real power, for me is the sheer number of people who take part in the March and especially the Vigil for Life Mass the night before. However, there would be a huge boost in coverage if the president showed up. What's the deal?
