Also, there's a summary of a never written book called The Acts of Paul on the author's website. It's a very interesting idea ... especially the Christian appearing as an almost angelic being. My interpretation of that would be that the persecution of the Church led to ... that. I don't know. Being nearly wiped out would not necessarily make Christianity better, but I think it's self-evident from the history of the Church that persecution seems to do the opposite of what the persecutors intend.
