It's sunday, but I have some papers to write and some studying to do. The weekend went well. On friday we started our Day of Recollection with Bishop John Dougherty of Scranton, PA. He was an excellent speaker and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to his conferences. My favorite quote of the retreat was: "You will not be praised for seeking Christ." How true.
When the Day of Recollection ended on saturday afternoon, Josh, Craigr, Jess and Abbey came to visit. We got food, hung out in various places, and ended up at Dunkin' Donuts where the guy working there gave us all the remaining donuts when they closed. He is a holy man.
After mass and lunch this morning, they headed back to Ohio. Later on, I discovered a parting gift from Josh and then picked up my sweet new seminary jacket and am currently doing my favorite thing in the world: school work. It's actually not too bad because I enjoy metaphysics and our philosophy test shouldn't be too painful.
So: 6 journals and two tests. Not too bad. Then on friday I am being the substitute drummer for St. Vincent's Festival of Praise in the Crypt of the Basilica. I'll try to post a picture or two. Then, spring break. I can definitely use some relaxation.
But for now, it's time to write about the essence of "being."
