We are about halfway through Lent. Only about three weeks until Easter. Wow.
Time flies pretty much all of the time. Here's how I have been spending my time of late:
- This past week was full of feasts and solemnities: St. Joseph, The Passing of St. Benedict, and the Annunciation of the Lord. Also, on Monday, we had the installation of several seminarians to the ministry of reader. It was a liturgically busy week.
- I finished rereading The Silmarillion and The Great Divorce. I started rereading Mere Christianity. Two things: 1. I don't think reading great books over again is a waste. It really brings out the wisdom in them. 2. Tolkien and Lewis are BRILLIANT.
- Last night we had Old School Video Game Night in the lounge. We hooked up a laptop to the giant flatscreen TV and used some emulators to play some NES, SNES and Sega games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat II, the old MarioKart, Bomberman, and Golden Axe.
That's about it. I have a paper to write and a test to take this week, then a free weekend. I am enjoying myself here but I'm already looking forward to whatever I'll be doing this summer. Whether I a stationed in a parish or living at home and helping out at a parish while working, it'll be a good experience.
