I think it is safe to assume that, when a news story reports on Christianity, it is most likely going to be an attempt to undermine or disprove something that Christians believe.
Hence:
Study claims ice, not water, kept Jesus afloat
Ice! Of course! So when Peter got out of the boat, he was also walking on the random ice ... until, that is, he felt afraid and fell off the ice? Come on people.
Why is that we can never believe in the supernatural? I'll tell you: If you take away the miracles Jesus performed, you are only left with what He said. Then it's easy to say that we can't really know what He said because the Gospel writers could have added things later. Finally, we are able to completely disregard Christ and swim in the bliss of wonderful religious feelings without any moral obligations.
But there's still more!
Text might be hidden 'Gospel of Judas'
Again, we see that anything that could be used to undermine Christian beliefs must be absolutely true. The Jesus presented in gnostic documents like this seems to have more in common with hippies and New Agers than anything Christian: "You will exceed all of them. For you will sacrifice the man that clothes me."
I tend to go with what the Church said in the first place: A "Gospel of Judas" was first mentioned around 180 A.D. by Bishop Irenaeus of Lyon, in what is now France. The bishop denounced the manuscript as heresy because it differed from mainstream Christianity.
This quote kills me: The people who loved, circulated and wrote down these gospels did not think they were heretics. Oh, wonderful! So, as long as I believe that I am right, everything's ok?
Here's a Catholic position on the so-called Gospel of Judas.

aahh the wonderful world of moral relativist view, just because I think it's true, it must be.i can just totally predict what your argument for this one is.what a joke. such a dangerous view. but hey that's why we have TRUTH right?
Yes, that is why we have Truth.
From reading your comment I'm not sure if you are agreeing or disagreeing and trying to see what I mean. Oh well. All I am saying is that there is such a thing as objective truth. If we want to know the truth about Jesus, we should probably go to the Church He founded. In fact, the only reason we have a Bible to read and believe is because the Church put it together. That's why I can't trust these "new gospels" that appear from time to time.
