Note: Here are a bunch of random thoughts and events from this weekend.

My friend Josh told me that he saw a shirt with that phrase while we were discussing the evils of "springing forward" last night. The more I think about it, the more true it seems to me. We put so much emphasis on doing as much as possible within the confines of our day that we forget to enjoy the time that is given to us. You always hear people say, "I wish there were more hours in the day." What would we do with more time? We'd fill it up with other stuff and still feel just as rushed and stressed. Life is too important to cram it full of things we think that we need to "get done." We need to slow down.

Two movies I watched this weekend:
1. Stay - Even though I only watched it once, I'd say this movie is brilliant. It's totally confusing until the end, but then right when you think you understand it all, they throw in some shots that call it all into question. The whole movie makes you ask, "Is any of this real?" and leads you to suspect even the trustworthy perspectives in the movie as being only delusions. If you liked Identity or The Village, you may like this.
2. Eddie and the Cruisers - A classic rock and roll movie. I love it because it goes past all of the superficial fame and pleasure parts of rock and looks at the real purpose and beauty of music.

The FOP at FUS was incredible. Again, they didn't have Eucharistic Adoration, but it was still very good. The band is great, the leaders are passionate, and best of all, the people who come are all exteremely into it. Having several hundred people honestly singing and praising God around you is quite an experience. It took me a while to get into the "praise and worship thing" but it has grown on me. I think playing in a praise band is what did it. You see that, when it's done best, P&W is a great way to take the focus off yourself and put it on God ... and Franciscan does it better than anyone I've seen.

We need to pray. The power of prayer is underestimated. God wants us to talk to Him and get closer to Him, but we focus on the petty, earthly things around us instead. "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you" (James 4:8).
