Did anything happen ...

... in the new X-Men movie?

I don't think so. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the film. However, it seemed like almost everything that the movie pointed out to us as important was reversed by the end.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two movies in this series and, because I heard that this was to be the last one, I was ready for a big finale. Instead The Last Stand seemed to be one big cliffhanger. BY THE WAY, STOP READING IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT. The cure seems to only last for a certain period of time. Prof. X isn't quite as disintegrated as we thought he was. Maybe Jean Grey and Cyclops aren't dead either.

My biggest disappointment with the movie is that the main points of the movie (Jean as The Phoenix and the final battle between the good mutants and the bad mutants) weren't all that dramatic. Jean just stood around for the majority of the movie and the battle at the end was kind of lackluster.

Oh well. This is what happens when you use different directors. However, I heard on TV that the director of the other two films didn't do this one because he directed the new Superman movie. Hopefully that one is as good as The Last Stand should have been.
