Two cool videos:

1. Chuck Norris reads his top ten favorite Chuck Norris facts. [Thanks, Amanda.]

2. Who Wants To Be An Amerikan - A cool student video. There are lots of angry comments on the YouTube page about it, so I wanted to give you my take on it here: This video is not anti-American. It's not really even about the U.S.A. The main point of the film is to show the fear and hopelessness of living under a totalitarian regime and then ending by showing that there is hope for humanity under even the worst circumstances (hence, the quote: "People are more important than places."). The way I understood the message is that people are what really matter in life and it doesn't matter how bad a situation gets, people still have their inherent dignity. Take the example of St. Maximillian Kolbe, he may have been killed by humans at their worst, but he rose above it all and showed that he still was human.

So! Before you form any opinions based on the name of the film or the angry responses, watch it.

The responses to this video are very telling. I think it's sad that some students put together a well-made and clever film, they get attacked by a bunch of angry Americans who have totally missed the main ideas of their story. We, as a country, need to get over our oversensitivity to ... well, anything that could be construed as criticism.
