My classes are going well. They've all been pretty interesting and things aren't too busy yet.
We traveled to DC for the March for Life on Thursday. The trip down was uneventful: we made the obligatory stop in Breezewood, PA, got to the National Shrine and staked out our sleeping area.
I decided to process in cassock and surplice for the Mass. That supposedly means that you get an actual seat and I actually did! I love the Vigil for Life Mass. It's inspirational to see so many people, including hundreds of priests and seminarians.
That night, I spent time in prayer and hanging out with the other St. Vincent guys. Notice that I did not mention sleeping. That is because my "staked out sleeping area" was soon invaded. Ah well. I had a good time staying up.
We left for the Verizon Center around 6:30. I spent the extra time in the arena sleeping in my chair.
The Youth Rally/Mass was a good time. I was disappointed that Matt Maher wasn't playing, but I really enjoyed Ike Ndolo.
After Mass, we walked to the Mall to get in line to march. We stood around for a long time but eventually got moving and marched the March.
One thing I love about the March (besides the whole pro-life point of it) is randomly or not-so-randomly seeing people I know. This time I saw Kristina from MUC, a friend who is now a Dominican postulant, Kevin Heider, Josh, Chris from Teeth and high school classmate. Very cool.
After the March, we made it back to the bus at Union Station and headed for home. I slept for most of the trip until we stopped at McDonalds. It was good to get back to school with the weekend ahead of us. I got lots of sleep.
From what I saw of the March for Life this year, it was huge. There were probably more people than last year and many of them were young people. There is no excuse for the lies and bias shown by the media when "covering" the March. I say "covering" because most of them just ignore it. That's just unbelievable considering how many people peacefully march in DC every year.
Anyway, this week is going quickly. I'm trying to stay on top of reading as well as other things.
Please pray for me, I'll be praying for you!
