- I've been able to get to know my pastor and the people of the parish.
- I've done a lot of preaching, at daily Masses and weekend Masses.
- I got to go to the ordination of two of my friends to the priesthood in Erie.
- I've written articles for the parish bulletin every week. It tends to be a sort of "did you know" series. I'm trying to get more people to give me questions to answer.
- I'm helping with a sort of "teen vacation Bible school" in a nearby parish. I'll be on a vocation panel, as well as playing guitar.
I guess that wasn't that complicated.
The things I'm looking forward to:
- The "teen VBS" is this week.
- This coming weekend I will lead an altar server "refresher course."
- Our 2nd vocation retreat for 7-8th graders starts this Sunday. Last year was one of the most tiring things I've ever done and I had horrible poison ivy afterwards, but it was a good experience for me, and hopefully for the kids who went on it.
So, there is lots going on here. I'm always grateful for my experiences in the parish and this summer has been no different.
