Paramount has employed hundreds of local residents as extras and has housed and fed its employees in local hotels and restaurants.

City council members noted that foot traffic in the downtown area has increased as curious fans from both in town and out of state have tried to catch a glimpse of the action.

Harris said the filmmakers have offered to leave the spruced-up storefronts in place for any landlord who wishes.
