I didn't have a new homily last weekend because our permanent deacon preached those Masses. This weekend, I'll be back to our journey through John 6.
It's interesting and challenging. I like looking at this rich passage for such a long time, but it gets tough to start a new homily every time. Jesus seems to repeat himself ... but that's probably because this is about something we need to hear over and over again.

Inspired by one of my assignment pastors the last time we read John 6, I printed out each of the readings and wrote a few words on each printout to focus them in different directions. That way, if I was in the same parish every weekend, the congregation would hear about different dimensions of the Eucharist over the month. However, since I rotate each weekend, the whole probably doesn't come across.
That was kind of my approach as well. Thought it was great having the whole month to look at the passage, each homily had to be semi-independent since no particular crowd would hear them all in order.
