A singer-songwriter fundraises from fans to record an album - I'm not that interested in her music, but this is a cool idea: people supporting musicians (or any artists) they like instead of relying on record companies to discover, publicize and support them. I also like the prizes she's offering for various donations:

Five thousand dollars earned you a private living room concert. A $100 donation meant a T-shirt from Sobule with the words "Junior Executive Producer" emblazoned on it.
