Resurrexit sicut dixit, Allelluia!

So, it's been a while for me. Before today, my last post was on April 1st. The business of pre-Holy Week work prevented me from blogging before the Easter break and the business of Holy Week has kept me away since. Now I'm back at school and just as busy, but I wanted to get on here a bit today.

Holy Week was great for me. I went home on Monday to serve at the first of two Chrism Masses in our diocese. I love seeing the large group of priests and lay people who gather for the Mass. The next day, I traveled to Marietta with another seminarian for the second Chrism Mass. It was cool to see St. Mary Church after being extensively "restored" (I'll have some pictures online later).

I hung around home and Franciscan University on Wednesday as well as hanging out with my family and watching Lost and 3:10 To Yuma (great movie) with some friends. On Thursday, I headed down to Our Lady of Mercy Church (about 2 hours away) to help out during the Triduum. It was a great learning experience for me as I got to MC the parish liturgies and lead the Way of the Cross on Friday. It was intense trying to remember everything that I had to tell the altar servers to do, but it seemed to go well. I love interacting with the people of the diocese.

I headed back home after the Vigil Mass on Saturday and picked up my sister to go to FUS's Resurrection Party for a while. I saw some friends and listened to a pretty cool band.

On Easter I assisted at my home parish's morning Mass and then headed out to my grandparents for most of the day. My sister and I played with our little cousins. After heading home, we took them for a walk around the city's old golf course with our dog.

Finally, on Monday I went to Mass, did some shopping and got packed before heading back to St. Vincent ... and back into an intensely busy final three weeks of school. Deep breath ...
