Another world ...

It's strange to think that while I sit in a comfortable room here in Latrobe, that millions of people have had their lives turned upside down. The results of Hurricane Katrina have been compared to the tsunami in Southeast Asia since the beginning and I think that the effect is having is similiar.

It might be that I don't really watch TV, but I have been keeping up with the news online and I feel strangely distant from the disaster that has happened in the Gulf Coast region.
It's not just that there was a storm and some flooding, the things that we usually expect from a severe storm, that can be mopped up quickly. Many areas have been completely devastated.

Not only have many, but possibly thousands of people have been killed and the survivors are experiencing a whole new reality (this story really drove it home for me).

We have to pray and we have to keep praying. The people affected by this storm need God's grace and peace. And they need our support. Here's one place where you can donate.
