... on purevolume.
I really like music so it's awesome that purevolume.com exists. It has tons of bands that aren't real famous (yet) and you download most of the music for free. And it's legal.
Besides hosting Blue Rubber Clippers, there are a lot of bands with the kind of music that I like. So, if you're into punk, ska, or even hardcore, check it out. There are all kinds of artists, but those kinds tend to stand out on the site.
Here's what I've been downloading lately:
Scary Kids Scaring Kids - "The City Sleeps In Flames" and "The Only Medicine"
These guys are kind of screamo. They're really intense which means good.
Fall Out Boy - "Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy?"
I really like FOB's new album, From Under The Cork Tree and this song is just as good.
Gym Class Heroes - "Taxi Driver" and "Papercuts"
This might be one of the world's only hip-hop bands. Very cool sound. If you listen to the lyrics of "Taxi Driver," you'll hear them drop the names of like fifteen other bands.
Hawthorne Heights - "Ohio Is For Lovers"
This one is actually played a lot on MTV. Some fantastic screaming.
Orange - "Hollywood" and "No Rest For The Weekend"
These guys are all in high school but sound like they've been at it for years. It's very "rancidesque" but a little poppier.
Too Short Notice - "Go On Get Out Of Here"
Just a good ska song with a great female vocalist.
Panic! At The Disco - "Camisado"
All of the songs you can download from their site is good but this is my favorite. It's kind of techno rock ... whatever. It's tasty.
Also, I've recently rediscovered mewithoutYou. They used to have a few more songs to download but they're still good. "Paper Hanger" has been playing in my head for two days.
Enjoy!
