... we were on a retreat from wednesday until today. That's why I was gone.
I had never been on a retreat that long before and it was probably the most serious one I've ever done. We stayed at St. Emma's, a monastary/retreat center run by Benedictine nuns. It was somewhat in the country so the whole week was fairly quiet.
All of the rooms were tiny. There was only a bed, a desk, and a chair. The halls were narrow and most of our time was split between the chapel, our rooms, and the cafeteria. We spent our days going to conferences led by Fr. Brett Brannen, mass, and prayer.
The talks were excellent. Besides that, I really enjoyed the quiet prayer in the chapel and taking walks around the monastary grounds. I didn't take my camera ... it would have been useful there.
So, it's a new semester.
Welcome to 2006.
