Well, basically they rock hard. I've only really gotten into their music in the past two months or so, but I've always been intrigued by their stripped down, raw style.
The band is made up of Jack White (on guitar, piano, and vocals) and Meg White (on drums and vocals). So, you ask, what can anybody do with two people and no bass? The answer: quite a bit. I have three of their albums: White Blood Cells, Elephant, and Get Behind Me Satan. I like all of them quite a bit, but the first two are my favorites (though they have two earlier albums that I haven't heard, as well). On most of the songs, they stick to the formula of two people playing without adding extra instruments and it works beautifully.
I can't really explain why I like them so much. They're music is bluesy, catchy, sometimes weird, rock. It won't help for me to go on and on about why they're cool, so I'll just list some of their songs that I like the most for you to check out:
"Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground," "Hotel Yorba," "Little Room," "The Union Forever," and "I Think I Smell A Rat" off of White Blood Cells.
"Seven Nation Army," "There's No Home For You Here," and "It's True That We Love One Another" from Elephant.
"My Doorbell," "Little Ghost," "The Denial Twist," and "As Ugly As I Seem" from Get Behind Me Satan.
These are just some suggestions. All three of those CDs are great.

That one seems to be much more piano based than the other two I've heard. The other ones are more centered on guitar, even a few acoustic-type tracks.
