"From Program Development to People Development"

I don't always agree with my protestant friend, Ben, but this is a good point:

Some churches think that if we just have enough programs to offer...and they are the right programs...our church will go. But Jesus has always been about relationships not systems. Maybe we should try it out.

Yes! We should be about making saints, not systems. While Ben probably doesn't have a Catholic parish in mind with this, I think it applies. We can have all the groups and services that we want - if people aren't coming closer to God, what's the point?

The programs that churches offer can be an important part of their journey to holiness, but they shouldn't become the end in itself.
